By Jonathan Bacon A couple have demonstrated how they were able to create a highly-functional kitchen by installing two kitchen sinks. Joe and Donna Martin-Howell told the Las Cruces Bulletin that they were keen to install lots of practical appliances in order to ensure they could work on several food preparation projects at once. Such appliances include a double oven, warming drawer and large freezer as well as a "vegetable sink" and a conventional kitchen sink. "It's so very easy for Joe and myself to work in the kitchen at the same time," Ms Martin-Howell told the news provider. The couple said that a large amount of countertop material had been fitted to optimise the kitchen's workspace while the overall floor plan was opened up to a family room and breakfast nook to encourage communal gatherings. Kitchen designer Johnny Grey recently told the Daily Mail that in homes where there is a shortage of space and where the home is intensively used by a family, people are increasingly abandoning dining rooms in favour of open-plan kitchens.
