Tim Elliott and Lori Pillsbury showed Newsregister.com around the house that they had custom-built in order to ensure it met high green standards. The tour revealed that fixtures like ceiling fans and door handles had been obtained from suppliers of recycled goods. Inventive additions in the kitchen also included the use of a professional chef's toolbox as a kitchen cabinet, the news provider said. Among other noted features in the kitchen were a variety of professional appliances and stainless steel counters in and around kitchen sink areas. Mr Elliott said that it was important to him that the kitchen was a communal space. "The kitchen is open to the rest of the downstairs area, so he can talk with guests while he's cooking," the website added. The Daily Journal recently said that many homeowners believe that promoting communal gatherings is more important than the overall aesthetic of a room.  |
