Homeowners use mobile kitchen island for entertaining

A couple purchased a large island unit on wheels to make their kitchen more suitable for entertaining guests.

Mel and Janet Ruzicka told the Baltimore Sun that they bought the unit to give them greater flexibility when hosting communal gatherings.

According to the news provider, the item was constructed out of cherry wood and matches the couple's existing kitchen cabinets.

"The rich beauty of the kitchen furnishings sets the tone for the rest of the area and the rest of the home. Working with her favourite colours, claret red and deep gold, Janet Ruzicka would often find herself unintentionally purchasing items that fit perfectly with her decorating vision," said the paper.

Indeed to add to this effect, Ms Ruzicka used a red and gold floral print for the kitchen window valence.

Last week, designer William MacDonald told TheStar.com that homeowners can make their kitchens more trendy by swapping their existing kitchen sinks and taps with burnished copper alternatives.
