By Sarah Brown Model-turned-author-turned-cook Sophie Dahl has revealed that a messy kitchen is one of her pet peeves. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Sophie, who has written a cookbook Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights, and is starring in a soon-to-be-aired TV cooking show, The Delicious Miss Dahl, said that she likes her workspace to be spotless. "I am a Virgo. I tidy as I go. I can't abide mess in the kitchen or anywhere else," she added. Tidy cooks like Sophie could benefit from kitchen appliances such as a food waste disposer which grinds food particles into tiny pieces which can then be passed through the drainage system rather than sitting around for long periods. The devices are also popular among environmentally friendly cooks. In a recent interview with the Times, Sophie said that she loves cooking and spending time in her kitchen as it is "incredibly calming", adding: "I love the ritual of it."  |
